In 18th century England, the close relationship between Queen Anne and Sarah Churchill is threatened by the arrival of Sarah's cousin, Abigail Hill, resulting in a bitter rivalry between the two cousins to be the Queen's favourite.
This movie is truly amazing and well done. The cast is fantastic and the set pieces also.
The audience of the movie however needs to be the right one. There is a lot of hate and bad comments on this movie and I personally feel that is due to the difference in culture and taste. The movie has dry and dark humor (as typical of British) which is very often is not appreciated by American audiences just because of the difference in taste.
As to such just be warned. You may totally hate it and that is fine. Nevertheless it’s a brilliant move for those with the palette
Awful. Just Awful.
Very disappointing. No plot. Boring. Clowns in period costume. Awful. Just Awful.
With such acting luminaries, fine location shots , one would think this should be a clearr winner. The acting is superb, but the storyline is gross, music weird , and it seemed like someone with a lot of power got to play lets have a lesbian queen with 2 gals fighting over her, oh boy, when it started to become clear it was just a dark and disturbing romp, I turned it off
